While I liked the topic there is nothing original here. Wikipedia has the same information and includes numerous resources for further reading. In fact, much of the writing is word for word the same as Wikipedia! The writer did not include resources and citations which are an absolute requirement for this type of publication. Don't spend $.99 for this poorly written essay, which lacks any factual support, and reads like a high school book report. Wikipedia has a more in depth description. And yes, its only like 8 pages long.

This is more or an essay than a book. It has more information than I could find just in a beef net search but nothing to deep. It's OK for the price since I would pay more for a history magazine with a shorter spot.
The cover isn't very professional, so at first I was hesitant to use this resource in my research paper on female pirates. But the information all panned out when I double checked it (a few of the more legendary aspects were presented as solid facts rather than rumor, but nothing completely untrue was written), and I can safely say this volume is the most thorough source of (admittedly mostly uncited) information on Ching Shih available. She is one of the most successful (if not THE most successful) pirates ever, and it's a shame there aren't more books about her.
